CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:

COMMUNICATION CLASSES:

We realize the importance of communication in the current scenario. Hence we have introduced a separate class for English Communication when children are specially trained in reading, vocabulary building, writing skills, public speaking skills and spelling.

ABACUS:

Abacus is a method of imparting training to perform mental calculations quickly. Research has shown that people who are good at abacus use the right hemisphere of the brain actively with the sense of sight and hearing. Keeping this in mind, we have Abacus classes as part of the curriculum hours for classes I-V to give a good foundation in Mathematics.

In addition to the above, equal importance is given to enhance the General Knowledge of our students during the G.K Classes and also the moral values which we incorporate in our students in the Moral Science classes.

HANDWRITING CLASSES:

To give a proper foundation for handwriting, there is a dedicated Handwriting class for Class I students.

THEATRE IN EDUCATION:

This programme encompasses huge body of development drama activities aimed at increasing the confidence, self esteem and verbal skills of all students. Enthusiastic participation is encouraged at all times and students present a short, scripted production at the end of each year for parents and friends. We have tied up with an organisation called “Theatre Capital” which has a syllabus for teaching Theatre to students for classes II – VII. Theatre classes are compulsory for all students.

BRIGHT FUTURE PROGRAM (BFP):

This program has been introduced for Classes IX to PUC with a mission to equip students with the tools they require to succeed in life while maintaining their academic success.

By education, we mean that children have to be bestowed with life’s values and knowledge, which is a basic necessity in the current scenario.

Schools, in the traditional sense, provide students with the tools they need to survive in academics; BFP provides students with the tools they need to survive in life.

VOLUNTEER SERVICE PROGRAM:

This is a Credit Course Program which has been introduced. Each student of Class VIII to I PU are required to complete a certain number of volunteering hours by the end of the school year. The program is divided into individual activity and group activity. After completion of the required number of hours, they are issued a Certificate.

YOGA:

Yoga classes are conducted for Classes VIII to X.

The Games and Library hours are also part of the Curricular hours, though there is no mention made above. Every student is encouraged and compulsorily play during the Games period.

We have a well-equipped “Smart” Library. There is a dedicated library hour in the timetable for all classes from Class I – X to encourage reading and referring habit in students. For students from Class I-IV, children are made to read books in their respective classes. For students from Classes V-X, they are issued books and are allowed to take books home.

In addition to the above, students are also given options for participating in the School band, Scouts and Guides, Choir group, details of which are given under “Cultural Activities”.

The Timetable is designed in such a way that all the Co-curricular and Extra curricular activity classes are within the curricular hours
