ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES

When everything feels like an uphill struggle, just think of the view from the top hill.

Aradhana is not only known for its education, but it also considers the joy and physical fitness of students and parents.

Children had not traveled with their friends for the past two years due to the pandemic. We took our students and parents on an adventurous trip to kabbalpet. It bought out the best in us by exposing it to a challenging, risky yet satisfying experience.

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY

The attitude of gratitude teachers is the importance of seeking the position from every experience and being thankful for all that we have. We at Aradhana had a special assembly bidding to Sr. Regina and welcoming Sr. Moly Pullan- Vice principal, Sr. Mary Malieckal- Counselor, and Sr. Shainy Kayyaniyil- Secretary/Treasurer. Students performed a welcome dance followed by a taken of love & gratitude handed over to all the Sisters by our principal Sr. Siji. The enthusiasm and job were palpable among each other present in the assembly.

SAVE SOIL

Save Soil – a Global Movement to invoke a conscious approach to soil and planet in all. One of the main objectives of the movement is to show across the world that their citizens want policies that revitalize ecology and soil.

Students of Aradhana Academy on May 26th had taken part in the session conducted by Save Soil committee members.

3D SHOW

As part of student enrichment activity children were showcased a 3D movie about animals. All the kids were given a 3D specs where they wore throughout the movie.

The movie consisted of both land and water animals and characteristics of each animal. Children were kept engaged throughout when animals actually came to life. There was a lot of excitement, thrill, enjoyment and learning experiences. The children were pulled into a fictional world and were immersed in it.

Later on, an interaction session was held and children reflected back beautifully on their experiences.

Enhancing Reading Skills

The fundamental abilities that lead to fluent reading later, is promoted here at Aradhana, through various activities like:

  • Phonological awareness.
  • Listening skills.
  • Learning new words.
  • Print recognition, or knowing what books are and how to hold them.
  • Blending sounds.
  • Creating word families.
  • Read and assist in reading stories

Playing games using sight words which are displayed around classroom

Fine Tuning Motor Skills

Children are provided age-appropriate experiences to help them develop fine motor skills through activities like:

  • Tracing, pasting and crushing.
  • Scribbling and tearing.
  • Stringing beads.
  • Rolling.
  • Play Doh Activities.
  • Puzzles.
  • Drawing coloring and painting.
  • Sorting activities.
  • Sand play

Gross motor skills like running, jumping, crawling, sitting, throwing a ball, climbing the stairs etc. are developed through outdoor games, Karate, Yoga and physical exercises.
