Educational theatre is one of the unfamiliar approaches as an alternative used to benefit students in terms of their skills through the art, performance and other elements of theatre.
Educational theatre is an interactive way of teaching, as it involves participation and it is easier for the students to remember the lesson. Besides that, it also widens the interaction and social skill of the students. For instance, negotiation, communication, public speaking and working together as a group.
By integrating theatre, teaching and learning will be easier as the students can absorb knowledge by implementing fun learning and experiencing them.
Educational theatre gives opportunity for the educators to implement exciting activities with the proper theory and practise. It enhances positive impact in studies and be effective in psychological development of the students. The focus is to be more creative from the basic conversational curriculum in school.
THEATRE IN EDUCATION =
THEATRE ACTIVITIES + DRAMA STUDIES + EDUCATIONAL VALUES + THE ART OF TEACHING.
- 1. Theatre in education
Actor - Teachers- Audience (Includes all the elements of Theatre).
- 2. Drama in education
(Role play, storytelling, class room activities, social behavior, group activity, fun learning, composing music for poems, videos/documentaries/films based on lessons of curriculum, scripting, improvisations, smart class techniques, etc).
- 3. Art in education
(Group/individual activity in dance, music, crafting, painting, etc).

FACTORS OF DEVELOPMENT IN EDUCATIONAL THEATRE COURSE:-

Fun learning (concept in teaching and learning their lesson through role play and theatre Games based on: memory, observation, imagination, alertness , coordination, trust, vocabulary, imitation, space writing, voice culture, body language, five senses, etc)
By using this method, students are able be more independent and explore things by themselves.
To enhance soft skills among the teachers through theatre activities:
Soft skills can be defined as a good relationship which one has among himself and people around him, which can be divided into two - interpersonal and intrapersonal. Which means someone who can have a good relationship within himself and others including environments especially in communication.
Theatre helps to enhance: communication skills, problem solving techniques, critical thinking skills, high self confidence and motivation.
To self prepared in core curriculum activities and school occasions.
By implementing theatre in their lesson plan and teaching methods with various class room activities like role play, musical poems, visualizing lessons, improvisations, etc.
To encourage creative and critical thinking among the teachers

Teachers should set their mind and asks these questions to themselves:
- a. What are the descriptions of a good teacher?

- e. How to make sure the teaching and learning have been delivered well and can be understood by students?
All of these questions need to be answered with certain skills and practice.
Not all the students/teachers have the creative skills. Thus, ‘Theatre In Education’ is a hope for the students and teachers to think beyond their imagination.
A teacher is a story teller; a good teacher is the one who can be the best actor!
- In other word, best teacher is the one who can deliver the knowledge effectively.
- To be the best, they must do their very best.
- Thus, teacher should bear in mind to understand the rules of the actor and theatre performance.
